Trail Keepers Toolkit

Join Our Most Steadfast Supporters Ensuring Access!

Local businesses become Trail Keepers for many reasons, but it always comes down to wanting to help us protect this beautiful land. Take it from our friends at Visit Mendocino County, Trail Keeper for both Navarro Point and Old Smith Ranch:

“The number one reason visitors come to Mendocino County is because of the natural beauty. Maintaining our stunning landscape wouldn’t be possible without the stewardship, conservation and leadership of Mendocino Land Trust. Not only do your efforts benefit the tourism sector, residents also enjoy the forests, beaches, and pristine pathways, thanks to MLT. Supporting Mendocino Land Trust is good for our county, our residents and our visitors, and that’s why Visit Mendocino has been a longtime sponsor of Mendocino Land Trust.”

We invite you to take an active role in helping steward the trails and wild areas that delight both our local community and visitors to our area. We are seeking Trail Keeper sponsors to help support our trails all over Mendocino County. Sponsors are recognized on signs at MLT trailheads and their logo and links are included on our website. We also recognize Trail Keeper sponsors in the “MLT Monthly” newsletter at least twice a year – this is emailed to about 2,200 subscribers. When you become a Trail Keeper we deliver you trail guide cards that are annotated to highlight your sponsorship.

This is a great way for businesses to show their commitment to conservation and public access in Mendocino County. Trail Keepers make a yearly tax-deductible donation to the Mendocino Land Trust. Your sponsorship helps connect you to engaged community members who care about preserving the beauty of the Mendocino region and ensuring all can access and enjoy these places.

To become a Trail Keeper, mail in the attached form with your tax-deductable donation. Sponsorships are first come, first served. If your first-choice location does not have sponsorships remaining when we receive your form, we will work with you to choose another site for sponsorship recognition.
