MLT GOES TO THE MOVIES

Mendocino Land Trust is delighted to be a part of this year’s Mendocino Film Festival. MLT is sponsoring one of the films in the Films for our Future series: Wild Life.

Here’s what the festival program has to say: “From Oscar-winning filmmakers Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, “Wild Life” follows conservationist Kris Tompkins on an epic, decades-spanning love story as wild as the landscapes she dedicated her life to protecting. After falling in love in mid-life, Kris and the outdoorsman and entrepreneur Doug Tompkins left behind the world of the massively successful outdoor brands they’d helped pioneer like Patagonia, The North Face, and Esprit, and turned their attention to a visionary effort to create National Parks throughout Chile and Argentina. “Wild Life” chronicles the highs and lows of their journey to effect the largest private land donation in history.”

It will be showing twice at the festival: on Friday, June 2, at 10:00 in the festival tent in Mendocino and again on Sunday, June 4, at 10:20 at Coast Cinemas in Fort Bragg. On Friday, stay after the film for a Q&A with Executive Director, Conrad Kramer, and Conservation Manager, Emily Griffen, to discuss all that it takes to protect wild spaces here in Mendocino County. MLT will also have a table at both venues to answer questions and talk more about our conservation work.
