Conservation Easement: Hathaway Creek Forest
Thanks to the dedication and hard work of one visionary landowner and the generosity of numerous donors, MLT secured $40,000 to support this new conservation easement in 2024. The stewardship fund raised by generous MLT donors will support the annual monitoring and defense of the Hathaway Creek Forest conservation easement. This will ensure that the property’s conservation values remain protected. The conservation easement now protects 38.5 acres of second-growth forest of redwood, Douglas fir, and bishop pine from commercial logging. The easement also protects rare and sensitive plant and wildlife species located at the headwaters of Hathaway Creek near Point Arena.
