Candidate for National Accreditation

We are very proud to have just submitted an application for accreditation (contained in six binders!) to the National Land Trust Alliance. The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and family lands forever.
I wanted to let you know that a public comment period is now open, and that the process of preparing the application has been extremely beneficial for the land trust.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, will conduct an extensive review of Mendocino Land Trust's policies and programs, governance and management.
With accreditation, our land trust will be able to display a seal indicating to you and others in the community that it meets national standards for excellence, upholds the public trust and ensures that our conservation efforts are permanent.
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Mendocino Land Trust complies with national quality standards.
