Gleason-Prescott Wildlife Refuge Project

The Land Trust is currently in the process of establishing a conservation easement, which will create the Gleason-Prescott Wildlife Refuge, on a 423 acre property near Willits.
A former sheep ranch, the property is classic California Oak Woodlands, hilly and has a number of spectacular heirloom hardwood trees. There is also a large area of mixed conifer forest, which refers to the presence of softwood trees like fir and redwoods, but also contains hardwoods like tanoak and madrone. The property has several streams and two beautiful year-round ponds.
